Studies
He studied in the Athens Conservatoire from 1948 to 1954 under G. Lykoudis (degree “excellent”, first prize). Having a state scholarship, he studied in France for 3 years (1957-1960) under George Szeryng and the great violinist Henryk Szeryng.

He has made appearances in recitals and as a soloist with orchestras in Greece (Athens State Orchestra, Thessalonica State Orchestra, ERT Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Hungarica, Salzburg Orchestra etc.) and abroad (France, Germany, Romania, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Persia, etc). He has also appeared on the Greek, Cypriot, French, Iranian and Bulgarian Television. He has played many Greek and foreign works for violin (Becker, Milhaud, Karyotakis, G.A. Papaioannou, Sisilianou, Dragataki, Skalkota). Inter alia, the “Concerts for violin and orchestra” by D. Dragatakis, G.A. Papaioannou, etc. Permanent member of the Athens State Orchestra since 1955 (with previous experience of 5 ½ years); he made an impression as first member (1965-1983). He also directed the “Greek Kamerata”, groups of the Athens State Orchestra, etc.
Professional activity
He has been a Professor at the Athens Conservatoire since 1955 (in violin, chamber music and student orchestra) with many students, including: Panos Valentis, Spyros Rantos, Yannis Georgiadis, Dimitris Giannou, Vyron Kapsalis, Natasa Mandikou, Nikos Chaliasas, Angela Fanarioti, Odysseas Korellis, Mikaela Mitropoulou, Giorgos Peristeris, Dimitris Aggelidis, Pantelis Stamatelos, Alexandros Papadiamantis, etc.
Other activities
He has recorded the “Sonatas for piano and violin” by Brahms and Prokofiev, the “Sonata for violin” by G.A. Papaioannou, the “5 Greek dances” and the “10 sketches for stringed instruments” by N. Skalkotas, plays for violin by A. Kounadis, G.A. Papaioannou, D. Dragatakis, M. Theodorakis, etc. He has participated in many artistic committees.
